Dear friends

E. made this prayer table in the atrium on Sunday... grateful that we have children who pray at Incarnation

What fun it was gathering in the Rowes backyard last Saturday to feast and laugh and be thankful together! HUGE thanks to ‘the lads’ who smoked meat from 3am … and who quietly and efficiently organised such a fun party. Hoorah for thankful togetherness and friendsgivings!

Last Sunday, the combination of a baptism and the lectionary took us into a place of remembering that the force of evil is real, and that we are rescued by the death of Christ. We come daily to the Lord’s prayer, asking ‘deliver us from evil’ as we ask for the Holy Spirit to work in us, to build our resistance and resilience. So grateful that we are forgiven and living as God’s agents of change in His Kingdom’s advance in this world.

Next Sunday is Christ the King Sunday - and our kids will be leading us in our worship with the readings and prayers. Wrap up warm and come and join us under the canopies! We will be praying this collect - why not focus your attention on Christ as King this week as we prepare to worship together?

Almighty and everlasting God, whose will it is to restore all things in your well-beloved Son, the King of kings and Lord of lords: Mercifully grant that the peoples of the earth, divided and enslaved by sin, may be freed and brought together under his most gracious rule; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.  Amen. (Proper 29)

And then - Advent is nearly upon us! I really enjoyed this playlist last year - do you have a favorite Advent song? Let us know and maybe we can make up an Incarnation playlist!

What counts as cold?

We've talked a lot about staying outside, under the canopy, until the end of the year - and we still aim to ... but a number of you have said 'ummm - what counts as tooooo cold?' Well - we do have an answer! Our aim is to stay outside if the temp is over 40. If it looks like being under that we will move to chapel + zoom .... BUT I am so hopeful it won't come to that! So meanwhile - don that hat and gloves. Dig out the ski jacket. Wear thick socks. Drink hot chocolate. Wrap up in a blanket. And enjoy the ambiance! You may never, ever get to do this again ... store up some fun memories :)

Coming up:

  • MEN! MEN! MEN! This Thursday (11/18) is a Third Thursday - on zoom with Grant @8pm. Read more here.

  • Please pray for our Diocesan Synod next weekend. We will be talking about the process of electing our next Bishop as well as hearing the Bishop‘s vision for this coming year. This is always a rich weekend.

Free stuff

Free stuff: we are doing some house cleaning as we plan to move our worship to Randolph School... and there is now a FAB 'free stuff' table in the nursery - pop by next Sunday and see if there's anything you'd like!
