“Any patch of sunlight in a wood will show you something about the sun which you could never get from reading books on astronomy. These pure and spontaneous pleasures are “patches of Godlight” in the woods of experience.” — C.S. Lewis, Letters to Malcolm, Letter 17.
It can be so easy for us to lose the forest for the trees. How often do we take a step back to rest and look at what God is doing? This picture was taken one Sunday as Incarnation Anglican ate together along the W&OD trail. It reminds me to step back and admire how God is at work, looking for the beautiful ways that He is showing up and creating. Last week I was asked to speak at Restoration Anglican Church (our sending church) on the topic of labor and whether we'll work in heaven.
You can listen to the full audio on Restoration's page here. What a blessing to have an opportunity to reflect on the significance of our work, the significance of our rest, and what God is doing at Incarnation.
