A Big Table for a Family Meal

Family meals at Incarnation

As I scrolled through our pictures from last year, I noticed that over half of our pictures were of people eating. Whether it's a cookout at a prayer walk, cheese and crackers at a small group, soup at the vicarage, common table dinners, or just random invites with neighbors, this church loves to be together over meals (and has from the beginning)!

Our first potluck last September had the theme of "family favorites" and it was so fun to hear stories of why people brought what they brought. We have grown bigger as a family since then, and now it's time to hear even more stories, so we are bringing back the "family favorites" potluck this Sunday for our birthday! If you're able, please bring something that reminds you of home, and if you can't bring something then bring yourself and make sure to ask someone about what they've brought!

Enlarging the table: Serving at RILA

Help us set a larger dinner table this Wednesday, Sept. 11, when we have an opportunity to serve a meal to clients seeking asylum at the Restoration Immigration Legal Aid clinic. Join us from 5:30-8:30pm at 1815 N. Quincy St, Arlington, VA. We’ll provide the food; you’ll help set up, extend hospitality, eat with clients and volunteers, and clean up afterward. Can’t come for the entire time? Volunteers are welcome for any part of the time. Please email Amy if you are interested! It is a gift to be able to extend hospitality and conversation over a meal to others and welcome them with the love of Christ. It is also an amazing gift to be part of a church where people love to have others at their tables.

In Christ,
