WEEKLY OUTREACH UPDATE
We are proud to support the work of Restoration Immigration Legal Aid (RILA) in providing free legal services to asylum seekers. As I wrote in a blog a few weeks ago, nearly everyone at Incarnation has volunteered with RILA in some capacity, a level of engagement that is simply amazing! And now we have an opportunity to do it again.
Over the next week and a half, we are collecting grocery and hygiene items for RILA clients. These will be distributed to clients who come to RILA for meetings about their asylum cases. Many of you have helped provide groceries or meals in the past (ah...remember the days of shared meals and bustling RILA clinics?). You can read more about the grocery program here (under "Bagged Groceries for Client Meetings"). Hygiene bags are a new initiative that Incarnation is piloting in response to an expressed need from RILA's clients.
Everyone is invited to signup here to purchase grocery and/or hygiene items from a list. After purchasing your items, you'll drop them off at a central collection spot (details will be emailed after you signup). Once all items are collected, our youth will work together to assemble the items into bags for delivery to RILA. This is a great way to involve our youth in serving our neighbors, and it also ensures that every bag of groceries and hygiene items is uniform.
