An App for Incarnation
We are always seeking to be a community of worship, welcome, and wonder. To worship in community and to welcome people well can take a bit of coordination and ingenuity. If you volunteer on Sundays, you're already familiar with the Planning Center Online (PCO) Services App. That app will still be used for volunteering, but there is so much more to our life together than volunteering on Sundays!
The good people at PCO have developed a user-friendly app called the Church Center App. What this means for Incarnation is that we now have a place where you can do the following: 1) Edit/add your own personal info, and 2) Find and sign up for small groups! Getting Connected
Once you have downloaded the app from either the App Store or Google Play, just type in the name of our church, "Incarnation Anglican Church", and the zip code, "22204". Select Incarnation Anglican Church as your church and the app will ask for your phone number and send you a code via text message to confirm (standard data and messaging rates apply). Type in the code and the app is ready to use.
What Church Center Can Do
Once you have logged in, your screen will show the name of the church, the address, service times, etc. If you tap the circle in the top righ corner, you can add a profile picture and change your personal information.
If you tap the bottom right of your screen where it says "groups", you will see what groups you are currently a part of. Scroll down to see "Find a group" and then under that, "Small Groups". Tapping on "Small Groups" will bring up a list of all the small groups which are currently being offered. Just tap the small group you're interested in and then ask to join.
Once the leader has approved your request to join, you can then see the exact address of where your group meets, email your leader, and subscribe to your group's calendar. NB: All this can still be done through our Small Groups Page (this page will be updated 4/12). You may either find a small group or sign up for a small group using the website or using the app.
You may have noticed from the video above that the app has the capability of doing pre-checks for children, giving, and event registrations. We are currently only using the small group functionality and giving everyone a place to add/edit their personal info. We will expand the app's functionality for the user as we continue to grow as a community.
