Our amazing Candle and Cutlery Crew at work at BHCUMC.

Dear Incarnation,

It has been a real delight to worship and work with you this summer and as a staff we are looking ahead with anticipation toward the fall. I recommend that you take a look at the opportunities below and consider how you want to embody our values of Worship, Welcome, and Wonder in the coming weeks and months.

Worship

New Worship Time. Starting September 7, our new worship time at BHCUMC will be 9 am! Kids will continue to meet for Wild Wonder on the playground immediately after the service until the fall retreat.

And we’ll celebrate Amy’s return from her sabbatical and Incarnation’s birthday with cake on the playground after the service.

Volunteering. We will have many opportunities to serve one another this fall, whether by helping us move into our space at BHCUMC, taking on new Sunday volunteer roles, or assisting at the fall retreat.

If you are interested in serving on Sunday in any of the following roles, please contact Russell at russell@incarnationanglican.org.

  • Crucifer

  • Reader

  • Prayers of the People

  • Usher/Greeter

  • Teardown - Altar, Narthex (Entryway), and Sanctuary

  • Musician

  • Hospitality

Welcome

Fall Small Groups. We’re still looking for a few more small group leaders, particularly in Virginia. Groups will begin the week of October 5 and end the week of November 23. Email Katie with any additional questions: katie@incarnationanglican.org or fill out an interest form here.

Outreach Partner Visit. This Sunday, we’ll be joined at Wild Wonder and in our service by our outreach partner L’Arche. You can learn more about their work here or attend their annual Talent Show on September 20 from 3-5 pm.

Wonder

Fall Retreat. Incarnation will be retreating at beautiful Camp Highroad, October 3 to 5. We have single day and overnight options available in the bunkhouse or camping. Sign up to join us here!

Vestry Nominations. We'll also be electing a new class of vestry members this fall and vestry nominations will be open from September 1 to 15. Our vestry isn't a board of directors, but members of our community called to pray and wonder with Amy where God is leading IAC. If you'd like to nominate someone for vestry, please send their name and a brief explanation of why you are nominating them to nominations@incarnationanglican.org.

As we enter the fall, I invite you to continue praying the Collect for Mission that we prayed on Sunday with anticipation about how God will move among and through us this fall.

O God, you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth, and sent your blessed Son to preach peace to those who are far off and to those who are near: Grant that people everywhere may seek after you and find you, bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit upon all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Love,

Katie
